Things to Consider Before Starting a Custom-Made Rug or Carpet:

CAD Design & Color Selection

Creating a CAD design requires transforming a photo into a detailed digital model, a process that can take several hours depending on the complexity of the design. For color selection, we send a briefcase of color poms for customers to review and choose from. Because of the time and resources involved, we charge separate fees for both CAD Design and Color Selection.

Production Costs

Labor continues to be one of the most significant expenses for any business. With the approximate time for weaving a rug, being from 3 months to a year, labor continues to be the most driving expense in the cost of producing a handwoven rug. We take pride in delivering a superior product, and part of that commitment is paying fair wages to the skilled artisans who weave our rugs.

Shipping

Customs / Tariffs

Importing a handwoven rug from India can be costly due to high international shipping fees, which depend on size and weight, plus insurance. Additionally, tariffs and customs duties significantly raise the final price. Together, these expenses often exceed expectations, making imported rugs far more expensive than domestic purchases.
