About Hamadan Rugs Hamadan rugs are made in and around the ancient city of Hamadan in Iran. Hamadan is an important trading center for rugs in the area. Rugs made in the region are primarily woven using a Turkish or Symmetrical Knot with a single-wefted construction. This is sometimes referred to as a Hamadan weave. Hamadan rugs are well known for a large array of colors.
Condition This is an authentic, hand-knotted persian rug from Iran. This rug is in excellent overall condition. The wool pile is very soft and even with beautiful colors. The color change found in the pile of these rugs is called abrash. Abrash can be caused for different reasons but adds character to the rug and is now a more common practice when making a rug, as it adds character. If you have any other questions or need additional photos please contact me.
Rug pad NOT included, however, you totally need a rug pad to protect your rug from added wear and tear as well as preventing falls. We recommend a RUGPADUSA pad which can be found here on Amazon.
