Most rugs and carpets we sell are considered pre-owned unless it was imported by us. We describe each rug with great detail so that our customers can be assured that they know what to expect. Below are some terms we used to describe the condition of each rug. While most of our rugs are considered pre-owned, many may have never been used but have been in storage for years.

Imported - All our imported items are brand new

Brand New - Never used

Like New - Excellent condition - looks new - no signs of wear

Very Good - Minimal signs of wear to pile or selvedge - intact fringe

Good - Has some signs of wear to the pile or fringe

Are there fees associated with importing a new rug?

Yes, in the United States there is a duty for importing new goods into the country. Shoppersianrugs.com will take care of the duty on your new custom rug(s) so that you won't have to worry about it.

If you're purchasing a custom rug from a different country, other than the United States, you are responsible for any duty associated with the import of your rug(s).

DHL Carrier requires payment of all duties prior to delivery of your order. If you reside in the United States, we take care of this for you.

Is Child Labor used in the production of our custom rugs?

No Child Labor or Forced Labor is used in the production of our custom rugs. We take great pride in working with our partners in India to provide a high-quality and unique product for our customers as well as a financially beneficial source of income for the weavers and their communities. Yes, we pay fair prices for production, which means the cost of production is higher, but it makes for a win, win for all parties involved.
