Does Shoppersianrugs.com Manufacture rugs?
No, we do not manufacture any of the rugs that are sold on our site. We do import New rugs and carpets from India and offer Custom-Made hand-knotted rug creation through Shopcustomrugs.com.
Are our rugs New or Used?
Most rugs and carpets we sell are considered pre-owned unless it was imported by us. We describe each rug with great detail so that our customers can be assured that they are getting a quality rug. Below are some terms we used to describe the condition of each rug.
Brand New - Never Used
Like New - Excellent Condition - Looks New - No Signs of Wear
Very Good - Minimal Signs of Wear - Intact Ends
Good - Has Some Signs of Wear or Stains to either the Pile, Fringe or Selvedge
Fair - Has A Decent Bit of Wear to the Rug
Poor - May Have Holes, Tears or Stains
Is child labor involved in these rugs?
All our Imported rugs from India are woven by men and women and range in age from 25 - 50 years of age. Child Labor and Forced Labor is a global issue that we are aware of and don't support. We take pride in being involved in the production of our rugs and the communities in which they're produced in. This helps insure good practices.
Our pre-owned rugs are produced in various countries and come with No documentation. For this reason, it's impossible to know who produced each rug. Typically, in Iran, women are mostly the weavers. In India, it was mostly men weaving rugs, but many women are now doing this today. Many weavers in India are now producing rugs as a second income for their family.
