Khamseh is a district northwest of Hamadan where may Persian rugs are made and sold. This district is unrelated to the Khamseh Confederation in western Iran. Mostly small rugs are made of the single-wefted sort.
Condition of this Hamadan Rug:
This is an authentic, hand-knotted persian rug from Iran. This rug is in excellent overall condition. The wool pile is very soft and even with beautiful colors. The color change found in the pile of these rugs is called abrash. Abrash can be caused for different reasons but adds character to the rug and is now a more common practice when making a rug, as it adds character.
